How the national lockdown will affect your driving lessons

The national lockdown in England has suspended driving lessons and driving tests until further notice. 

Getting your driving licence over the last 12 months hasn't been an easy task. With the local and national lockdowns causing disruption to your driving lessons and tests, theory tests expiring and long waiting times for driving tests -  its been a challenging time.

🚨 COVID Update 🚨

Driving lessons in Leicester & across England

Driving lessons will be suspended in Leicester and across England from Thursday 5th November until Tuesday 2nd December 2020. 

All driving tests will be suspended. 

Driving lessons for keyworkers

During the previous lockdown the DVSA made provisions to accommodate driving tests for keyworkers. 

However, as we understand the DVSA will not be arranging key worker tests and therefore we're unable to offer driving lessons to key workers during this time. 

What will happen to driving tests during lockdown?

If you have a car practical driving test during lockdown (between 5th November and 2nd December), DVSA will be in touch (via email). 

Your driving test will be cancelled and you will be advised what will happen next. 

Can I still book driving lessons?

During the first lockdown and since we re-opened on the 4th of August we have experienced a huge demand for our driving lessons in Leicester.

Driving Lessons to restart for all learner drivers from 4th July Monday 3rd August 

Are driving lessons restarting for everyone?

YES! We know many of you have been looking forward to getting behind the wheel and the current pandemic has caused disruption in many areas of our lives and goals for 2020. 

DVSA have confirmed driving instructors can resume normal services from Saturday 4th July 2020. Sadly, due to the rise of infection Leicester is in lockdown for a further 2 weeks. 

We can resume teaching learner drivers and potential driving instructors from the 4th July. However, due to the rise of infections Leicester is in lockdown for a further 2 weeks. 

At Your Driving Academy we offer driving lessons and driving instructor training to over 250 learner drivers every single week. We're excited to be able to do what we love and help learner drivers get their driving licence and gain their independence.
